Jewellery Care & Material

At Oniera, each jewel is crafted not just to be adorned, but to be cared for with the same attention it was created. Just as skin needs nourishment or fabric needs gentle handling, your jewellery too thrives when given the right care. Follow these simple practices to ensure your Oniera piece continues to shine with the beauty it was born with.

Sterling Silver (925)

Sterling silver is the foundation of every Oniera jewel. Made from 92.5% pure silver, this precious metal balances purity with strength — offering a lightweight, skin-friendly feel without compromising durability. Unlike brass, which is commonly used by other brands, sterling silver resists corrosion, is hypoallergenic, and is revered worldwide as a noble choice for fine jewellery.

  • How to Store
Each Oniera jewel arrives in an anti-tarnish microsuede pouch. Store your silver in a dry, clean place inside this pouch, away from humidity and moisture — the ideal cocoon to preserve its natural brilliance.

  • How to Clean
After every wear, gently wipe the piece with the soft, dry cloth provided to remove any natural oils or dust. For deeper care, use our silver-polishing cloth, applying light, even strokes to revive its radiant glow.

18k Gold Micron Plating

To elevate silver with the warmth of gold, we use 18k micron plating — often mistaken for standard gold plating, but in reality far more enduring. Unlike thin, regular plating, micron plating features a thicker layer of solid 18k gold over sterling silver, creating the look and feel of fine gold jewellery at a more accessible price. This technique enhances both durability and luxury, ensuring your jewel retains its golden allure longer.

  • How to Store
Gold-plated pieces are most radiant when kept away from perfumes, lotions, hair sprays, or other chemicals. Store them in the Oniera pouch provided, in a cool, dry place, to shield their delicate finish.

  • How to Clean
Like skin that thrives with gentle care, plated jewellery responds best to softness. Wipe your piece with the microfiber cloth provided, using delicate, light strokes. Avoid excessive polishing, as over-pressure may reduce the plating’s thickness. With consistent, mindful care, the jewel will maintain its warm, golden glow.
